Funny you bring this up. Since my grandmother's dying, we're putting a lot of things is storage, since hubby and I would really like to move out on our own, away from Dad and my brother.

While packing, I found my grandfather's book collection. Two in particular struck me. One was a biography and selected paintings of Norman Rockwell (one of my favorite artists) and the second was a two volume collection of Life magazine photographs and articles. My grandfather got them mostly for the photos as he was an amateur photographer, but it was interesting to read through the articles and see the various pictures. Being raised by my grandmother, I've a natural curiosity for history. And those books truly were a treat.

I see what you mean by Life being the YouTube of it's day. So many people fail to understand however that there are some things only a picture can capture. But it's neat to see how people viewed the world.

If I find any old magazines in my storage collection, I'll be sure to send them your way. After I've read them of course!
