Bravo! Well written! (Except for the typo in paragraph 5, where you use the word "stopped" twice in the last sentence.)

:)

I was afraid of the Jim Carrey Christmas Carol bit. But on further research, it looks almost promising.

It will never be equivalent to the version starring Patrick Stewart. (You know, the made for TV one that no one but me has ever heard of. That one.) He was, IMHO, the Scrooge by which all other Scrooges are measured. That and Stewart's version was the closest to the book I've ever seen. (Call me a purist.)

However, if I want to watch the Dickens classic and still have warm fuzzies, a good laugh, AND be entertained, I'll stick with Muppet Christmas Carol. Michael Caine (Who is the SECOND best Scrooge I've ever seen) did a fantastic job. And acting with a bunch of puppets isn't easy. The first Muppet filmed after the death of Jim Henson, it's still one of my very favorite holiday movies. It captured that warm and cheerful humor that Jim had infused in all of his previous Muppet films. (As well as having a brief nod in the direction of what, or rather Whom Christmas is all about. But that's just the icing on the Christmas cookie for me.)

Glad your son enjoyed the film. My only regret is that 3-D is so hard to do when you're ALREADY wearing glasses. Curse my blindness!

Have a great day!
